iphone power pack

I am just in the process of charging my new iphone power pack. It's effectively a battery pack that the iphone slides into and acts as a case. I will give up dates on its effectiveness. I would be interested to hear other peoples experiences so feel free to post a comment below.

Purchased from here but there are similar ones here.

Specs:

  • Compatible with iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS
  • USB Rechargeable
  • 1900mAh Li-Polymer Battery
  • Non-slip comfortable rubberised texture
  • Lightweight - under 70g
  • LED charge indicator
  • On/Off switch
  • Enjoy an additional (actual results may vary):
    • 12 hours talk time on 2G
    • 6 hours talk time on 3G
    • 6 hours browsing on 3G
    • 7 hours browsing on WiFi
    • 380 hours of standby
    • 28 hours of audio playback
    • 8 hours of video playback

Testing

Charging: To fully charge the battery it took 4hrs.

Settings: All push notifications are turned off.

First impressions: feels like a brick - may take some time getting used to the size.

12pm: iPhone is fully charged - iphone power pack is fully charged. Lets see how we go.

Update 27/1/10: a massive 36hrs later the external battery and iphone were both dead. I am so impressed. Re-charging again from scratch. Will see how we go round two.
