Testing

Charging: To fully charge the battery it took 4hrs.

Settings: All push notifications are turned off.

First impressions: feels like a brick - may take some time getting used to the size.

12pm: iPhone is fully charged - iphone power pack is fully charged. Lets see how we go.

Update 27/1/10: a massive 36hrs later the external battery and iphone were both dead. I am so impressed. Re-charging again from scratch. Will see how we go round two.

There are some for and some against the use of Creative Commons. I'm not going to go into it but personally I'm all for it. It's that little burst of pride that you get when one of your photos is used for a good cause. After all, isn't that why you take photo's? Maximum exposure and people's appreciation? Or maybe just that warm and fuzzy feeling that you get when someone says they really like that shot.

So how do you get your work out there?

I've had great success by uploading photos to my photostream on flickr and simply tagging them with relevant.

For example: my photo in the images below used by Newtown Project. I tagged with "Newtown, NSW, Tree, house, Morton bay fig" and low & behold when they did a search it came up (thanks guys).

So go and check out their website http://www.sydneyarchives.info/ and let me gloat for a little while longer :)

"But there is one crucial difference: Facebook is built around friend connections - people you know in real life. You can stay connected with them and know what’s on their mind. But if you’re anything like me, your Facebook friend list contains many a long-forgotten acquaintance or high school mate whose opinions or preoccupations you don’t really care that much about." Read Voirol's full article

I couldn't have said it better myself. When I first started using MSN IM all those years ago, the status updates was my first flirtation with status updates. It was that instant bite of info about someone. You didn't have to go into a lengthy discussion with them about the weather or life the universe and everything. You would know exactly what was going on without actually having to strike up a conversation. Ok that may sound completely lazy but keeping up-to-date with friends and family's lives globally would be a nightmare.

It's taken a few years but now every one is on the bandwagon. Trying to explain to people why exactly you are telling the world that you are "having a coffee", "watching some old t.v. show", "not calling the police when you find some guy asleep in your house (http://twitter.com/dlprager)", "being drenched by the rain" or what every it may be, if difficult. Maybe it knowing that out in the big wide world someone may actually give a shit. And maybe, just maybe, someone may want to strike up that conversation that you were avoiding all those years ago when the status updates were invented. God knows.

</rss:item><rss:item rdf:about="http://www.meredithjames.com/blog/2008/12/29/urban-greenscapes-would-this-work-in-sydney.html"><rss:title>Urban Greenscapes - would this work in Sydney</rss:title><rss:link>http://www.meredithjames.com/blog/2008/12/29/urban-greenscapes-would-this-work-in-sydney.html</rss:link>

<dc:subject></dc:subject>

Just stumbled across the PARK(ing) Day 2009 website http://www.parkingday.org/.
